GAUCHERE is a French prêt-à-porter house founded in 2012 by the designer Marie-Christine Statz. Her vision is to create garments that point out the individual. Marie-Christine’s intuitive designs make a woman feel confident and attractive. At the heart of each collection is the art of tailoring, intricate work on pleats and sculptural volumes.
The GAUCHERE woman is a progressive part of modern society. She knows what she wants. “Live and let live” is not just a phrase for her but an attitude towards life. She has her own style and knows what suits her.
Marie-Christine Statz was born in Germany. After her studies in Economics, she received her education in Fashion Design at New York’s Parsons School of Design, following roles as Assistant Designer at Narciso Rodriguez in 2008 and Diane von Furstenberg in 2009.
After leaving Diane von Furstenberg, Marie-Christine moved to Paris and received a special qualification in Haute Couture at the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne.
Marie-Christine presented her first collection GAUCHERE Spring/Summer 2013 along with the official launch of the brand during Paris fashion week. In 2014 and 2015 she was among the finalists of the ANDAM award.
