GAUCHERE is a French prêt-à-porter house founded in 2013 by the designer Marie-Christine Statz. Her vision is to create garments that point out the individual. Her collections are intuitive, a study of self-expression with a focus on the art of tailoring, intricate work on pleats and sculptural volumes.
The GAUCHERE woman is progressive. She is an active participant in today’s society. “Live and let live” is not just a phrase for her but an attitude towards life. She has her own style and knows what suits her.
Prior to creating GAUCHERE, the German-born designer first studied economics before receiving an education in fashion design at New York’s Parsons School of Design. She held design roles at Narciso Rodriguez and Diane Von Furstenberg.
In 2010, she moved to Paris to receive a special qualification in Haute Couture at the École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. Marie-Christine showed her first collection GAUCHERE Spring/Summer 2013 along with the official launch of the brand during Paris fashion week. In 2014 and 2015 she was among the finalists of the ANDAM award.
The collection is manufactured in Paris under the highest standards of traditional techniques and craftsmanship. The commitment to the environment is applied to the entire production reality and this is a continuous work at GAUCHERE. Our suppliers ensure full product traceability from the origin of raw materials, as well as the most advanced technologies, organizational and management processes, with full respect for people and environment.
